Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you brush, roll or spray?

  • ALL APPLICATIONS VARIE DEPENDING ON SURFACE TO BE PAINTED. ROUGH SURFACES OR BARE WOOD NEEDS TO BE BRUSHED OR ROLLED IN ON THE FIRST COAT THEN CAN BE SPRAYED FOR THE FINAL COAT

Q: Is spraying better then hand painting?

  • YES, SPRAYING IS BETTER IF DONE PROPERLY. SPRAYING WILL APPLY A MUCH THICKER COAT THEN YOU COULD EVER APPLY WITH A BRUSH OR ROLLER. ONCE YOU HAVE HAD A HOUSE SPRAYED PROPERLY, YOU WILL INSIST ON HAVING IT SPRAYED THE NEXT TIME.

Q: Do you power wash before painting an exterior?

  • I DO NOT RECOMMEND POWERWASHING, REASON IS WHEN YOU APPLY THAT KIND OF WATER PRESSURE AGAINST THE GRAIN OF THE HOUSE (FROM THE GROUND UP) WATER IS LIKELY TO GET INTO PLACES IT DOES NOT BELONG. SUCH AS BEHIND SIDING, AROUND WINDOWS, IN EVE VENTS, ETC…. WHEN WATER IS USED FOR REMOVING PAINT, I HAVE FOUND THAT IT STILL NEEDS TO BE SCRAPED BY HAND AFTER. I PREFER TO DO ALL SCRAPING AND CLEANING BY HAND. HOWEVER I DO OWN A POWER WASHER AND IF SOMEONE INSISTS ON HAVING IT DONE OR WHEN ARISES I CAN DO THIS FOR YOU.

Q: Are you insured?

  • YES, I CARRY 1,000,000 IN LIABILITY INSURANCE AND HAVE WORKMANS COMPENSATION. (A CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE IS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST).

  • YES, I AM ON MOST ALL BS FROM START TO FINISH WITH THE EXCEPTION OF RUNNING AN ERRAND OR MEETING WITH CUSTOMERS FOR ESTIMATES DURING THE WORK DAY. I TRULY ENJOY BEING ON THE JOB WITH MY EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS TO SEE THE JOB TO THE END.

  • ONE YEAR FROM COMPLETION OF THE WORK. SHERWIN WILLIAMS DOES HAVE AN EXTERIOR PAINT CALLED DURATION THAT COMES WITH A MANUFACTURER LIFE TIME WARRANTY.

Q: What preparation is taken to protect unpainted items?

WHEN NECESSARY BLINDS AND OR WINDOW TREATMENTS ARE REMOVED AND REPLACED. WHEN FINISHED THE ROOM IS PUT BACK TOGETHER. EXTERIOR: ALL PLANTS AND DECKS ARE COVERED.
